Creating and Submitting a Single Line Quote (Disti) Print This Page

A Request for Quote (RFQ) is a web-based form that you, as a distributor, submit to Intel through WebQuote to request a special price quote. The form on the Add Opportunity page is used to create the two types of RFQs:

Step Actions

1

From the WebQuote Home page, do one of the following to open the Add Opportunity page:

  • In the Left Navigation Menu, click the Add Quote button, or

  • In the first sentence under the main paragraph, click the Here link.

  • Line items pertaining to Sold To numbers that have been marked as inactive in SAP are at the bottom of the list, highlighted in red with an (INACTIVE) tag.

Use one of the following methods to enter the Intel Part Number or Intel Part #:

  • If you have the entire Intel Part number or MMID number, enter it into the Intel Part # field or MM Number field, respectively.

  • If you have at least three consecutive digits of the Intel Part number or MMID number, enter them into the Intel Part # field or MM Number field, respectively, and click the button located to the right of the field. Then in the Product Code popup window, click the MMID number of the part.

  • If you have at least three consecutive digits of the Intel Part Number's first seven digits, enter them into the Intel Part# field and click the button located to the right of the field. Then, in the Product Code popup window, click the MMID that corresponds to the part number.

If you get an MMID Invalid popup when trying to create a quote using what is known to be an existing MMID, it might be in a Status, Product Visibility, or Custom Indicator setting for which a quote cannot be created. For example, you cannot create quotes against products that have a Product Visibility = H (Hide) or Custom Indicator = Y.

To determine the current settings for the MMID, do the following:

  1. Go to the Product Search tool, accessed by clicking the Product Search link in the Tools section of the left nav.

  2. Enter the MMID into the popup window field, clear the Show Accessible Only box, and click the Search button.

  3. Information pertaining to the MMID (including Intel Part#, Forecast ID, Status, Product Visibility, and Custom Indicator) will now be displayed in the window.

If an MMID's Status = Active and the Product Visibility = H (Hide), you will need to work with the product planners within your division to move this product out of a Hide status before you can create quotes using it.

7

In the Competitive Information section, the Competitor Name, Part, and Buying Price fields are mandatory if you had selected the Meet Competition or Non-IA Tender quote types.

In the Comments section, you can enter comments which can be seen by all WebQuote users. (It is also possible to enter comments after the quote has been submitted.)

9

Do one of the following:

  • If you want to submit the quote now, click the Submit button.

  • If you want to submit the quote at a later time [for example because you need to add more information to the quote before submitting it], click the Save Draft button. A message at the top of the form will indicate that the draft has been saved. In Quote List, a line item for a draft quote will be displayed with a yellow background.

  • If you want to add more lines to the quote, click the Add More Lines button. This will open a popup window, prompting you to specify the number of additional lines to add to the quote.

If the Target Cost is determined to be higher than the Base Disti Cost, a popup window will appear. Click the OK button, then adjust the price and click the Submit button again.
